What really shocked me was men (boys I suppose) I'd known all my life and people who are still friends all these years on making assumptions about how they needed to treat me and about how I'd now be thinking.

With men I didn't know I wasn't so surprised- it was the seventies after all and that was a different planet- the boob fixation was even greater for example!
