Confusion
Date: 2018-04-06 04:44 am (UTC)Is the "putting DNA in a database" part necessary to come up as a match? The article never says he did, and I was under the impression (never having done a DNA test, myself) that if you take a test and it comes up you're related to so-and-so that other so-and-so's can get on and say, "Hey, I'm related to you, too" without necessarily having to take a test? Or are matches drawn purely from tested individuals, only (not those vouched for as relatives by others who have been tested)?
